Floating Boat Flier
Time Lapse
12Oct Event and Preparations
The fall urbanism studio will investigate spatial, social, sustainable and economic accessibility within Bergen’s Dåmsgardssundet waterfront and adjacent areas – a diverse and growing urban area currently undergoing redevelopment.
Focus will be placed on plural minded and system oriented approaches to urban situations found inside, around and in-between the built fabric. These approaches will be informed by an understanding of urban space as a generous field for various groups and interests to negotiate and find their
place, and where place is not only formed by walls and furniture but also grounded by various agencies.
The studio will maintain active, field oriented forms of investigation and testing (local meeting(s), lecture(s), on-site workshop(s), event(s) and exhibition(s) that go “outside” to engage the “physical” reality of urban situations and establish an ongoing dialogue with local actors (resident groups,
businesses, organizations and the municipality) and ultimately form common knowledge and experiences which seek to reinvent Dåmsgardssundet.
